That Old Tyme Liberal Carnivaling Callout

It’s time to start thinking about sending in your latest and greatest for the 9th edition of Carnival of the Liberals to be held at About.Atheism.com, hosted by the ever gracious Austin Cline on Wednesday, March 29th. That’s next week, donchaknow. Austin needs the goods by Monday, March 27th at 6PM EST though. The only catch — oh yes, there’s a catch — is that your posts should concentrate on issues pertaining to religion and liberal politics. Here’s what Austin has to say on the subject:

Posts addressing religion or philosophy in some fashion will be preferred because About.com prefers that I stay “on topic.” I won’t automatically dismiss posts that don’t deal with religion, but if most are about religion then I can say that I’m not straying too far into the topic area of another site.

Now this still leaves quite a wide array of topics open to you since religious issues have been, unfortunately, promoted to center stage by the Bush administration. If you’ve already submitted something and would like to submit something more on topic, feel free. Similarly feel free to ask to have it considered for CotL #10 instead.

On a related note, I’m going to take advantage of the Evil Liberal Conspiracy blogophone to flog for the Evil Atheist Conspiracy since, according to the right wing, we’re one and the same. Could it be because we both support that silly old Establishment Clause in the 1st Amendment? Hmm…

In any event, I’m hosting the 37th Carnival of the Godless at Neural Gourmet on Sunday, April 2nd. It strikes me that this is an opportunity for your submissions to be seen in not just 1 but 2 blog carnivals. CotG isn’t a selective blog carnival and almost any post from a godless perspective is welcome. So please consider this to be a dual call for submissions.
