I just submitted my Neural Gourmet announcement for CotL to Big Brass Alliance and added CotL to the members list (Carnival of the Liberals gets linked in the sidebar). It might be good to submit each edition of CotL here too.
As a self employed & employed person myself, I do everything by the book: Tax, VAT, the lot, but I'd advise you not to bother. With ?5k either way, the paperwork isn't worth it. If you declare a second income, SSCP you also have to pay a second class 5 national insurance contribution, or declare exemption, and you 000-102 will also make yourself liable to tax inspections, HP0-P20 as well as the additional work & maintaining turnover below the VAT threshold. Trust me, I know! As a higher rate taxpayer, you're not of any interest to the RH202 taxman for any further liability unless you stick your head above the parapet, but I admire your honesty.
It's about time someone on our side starts showing some big brass ones. I never even heard of most of the sites on that page, but now I have some new places to go look at.
